At Cairnwell Mountain Sports we offer a range of summer and winter activities/courses for all ages and abilities. We specialise is group activity packages and are registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS) for providing outdoor activities for under 18’s.

Accommodation: Gulabin Lodge based at the Spittal of Glenshee. The Lodge is equipped with underfloor heating throughout and nine individual bedrooms sleeping 35. It has a large well-equipped self catering kitchen, two cosy and attractive lounges, both with log fires, a large dining room and tea/coffee making facilities available all day.

Winter Activities:

Snow Sports School: Offers various packages with professional instruction from qualified instructors to all levels of skiers. Our Ski/Board hire is available at Gulabin Lodge based at the Spittal of Glenshee and we are the last hire before the slopes of Glenshee.
Instruction available in Alpine/SnowBoard/Telemark and Ski Touring.
Ski/Board Beginner Packages: 1.5hrs tuition, hire and lift pass Adult 50 pounds pp/Child 35.

Darren the owner, served for 21 years in the Royal Marine Commandos and his experience gained from working all over the UK led him to gain the much credited Mountaineering Instructors Certificate (MIC) in 1996. As an active Kayaker he is also an Inland Level 4 Kayak Coach. For the Snow sports activities he is a member of the British Association of Ski Instructors (BASI), holding the Telemark Instructor award.
He has organised and led many expeditions around the world including Europe, Norway, Canada, USA and to Mt McKinley in Alaska. During the months of Sep and Oct 2009 he will be in Nepal climbing Ama Dablam.
Darren’s wife Tereza is the administrator behind the scenes ensuring everything runs smoothly. Having ran a successful business before in Devon she now enjoys working from home; in between all of the administration there are 3 young children to look after. She is a keen skier and horse rider and enjoys all of the outdoor activities.
